Baseball NSW are offering our coaches and parents the opportunity to participate in a FREE seminar this summer, with former Major League Baseball Players!
The Major League Baseball Players Association and Baseball NSW are hosting a clinic on the 8th of January at Blacktown International Sportspark. The FREE Coaches and Parents Seminar will follow the players clinic, previously advertised.
It will be held in the BISP Function Room from 12:30-1:30pm, run by former MLB player Ryan Rowland-Smith and Johnny Gomes.
Rowland-Smith, a NSW Country Baseball native, is extremely excited to return home and be able to run camps and clinics on Australian soil again. A former Australian and Major League professional baseball, he played for the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks throughout his career. Rowland-Smith also represented in the World Baseball Classic three times and the pitcher was a notable name in the 2004 Olympics Australian Silver Medallist team! Having played in multiple international major and minor leagues, he has a plethora of baseball knowledge and experience to past down generations.
Jonny Gomes’ will join Rowland-Smith in leading the seminar. He played a part in seven organizations, made four postseason runs, and won two World Series rings in his professional career.
The session will not follow a fixed program, but there will be time for the following:
- Open Q&A session
- Opportunity to meet the MLB ex players
- Coaching in the Modern Era
- Player Welfare
There is no limit on registrations for this seminar so all are welcome.
