Last weekend our NSW Country Men’s A and B teams took to Blacktown International Sports Park for their Country Championships.
After 3 days of hard-fought baseball, in the A division final, Newcastle defeated Central Coast 12 to 2 to win the A division championship.
The B division saw a thriller final as Newcastle defeated Wagga 7-6 to become B division champions as well.
Congratulations to Newcastle on winning both divisions and to all teams who participated. A huge round of applause to the officials who helped out as well, we cannot run these events without them! NSW Country Baseball hopes it was a very enjoyable championship, after a 2-year hiatus.
The CLSC especially thank tournament director John Wingrove, scoring co-ordinator Judy Clifford and the umpires co-ordinator Brian Sullivan for all their hard work in making the championships the success they were. John will be enjoying a well-earned retirement after decades of devotion and hard work. BNSW alongside Country Baseball, appreciates your service to the game!
