NSWBUA Little League Umpire’s Academy

NSW Baseball Umpires Association and the NSW Little League Umpires Group are excited to announce the first ever NSW Little League Umpire Academy, set to run at the end of September.

The event will be held at the Greenway Baseball Complex in Cherrybrook from the 27-29th September. This event is open to all who want an insight into the world of umpiring baseball. Parents, players and coaches are all welcome to join as well.

The Academy promises to be one of the most exciting events to have been held for umpiring in Australia. Our instructor and trainer group will include Local and Interstate instructors and trainers, Little League World Series, and National and State Championship Umpires who are all dedicated to sharing their knowledge and skills. Notably, 2 USA LL Umpire Instructors will be joining NSWBUA, both with astounding umpiring experience!

One of the two USA LL Umpire Instructors is Mike Debelak, an Instructor at the LL Western Region, two-time World Series Umpire in 2018 and a member of the “Covid Crew” in 2021. The second is Mark Bernstein, the Umpire in Chief (UIC) for the Western Region. As UIC of this region, Mark is responsible for the training and development of over 10,000 Umpires.
