The Hills Little League team were this year’s Australian representative at the esteemed Little League World Series, one of the biggest junior baseball events in the world.
The players, coaches and families were eager for their first game against the Caribbean where they were narrowly defeated. It was a great effort in a sensational atmosphere, but Curacao
got up 2-1. Unfortunately, Hills then fell to Cuba in their next elimination game. Post-elimination, this team have been sure to keep their spirits high and make the most of the trip. They have stayed
in Williamsport to take in all the event festivities, including the MLB Little League Classic game – Phillies vs. Nationals.
The Hills players were super stoked to also be able to meet with the Nationals team. Following that game, they’ve sought out more MLB action, heading to the Pirates vs. Cardinals game in Pittsburgh. What great opportunities to watch the sport they love, live and in action.
Hills went a perfect 7-0 during June’s Australian Little League Championship – which included a 3-2 grand final win over Brisbane North. This team represented Australia proudly. Well done, boys! As our youngest representative team, this is just the beginning. We’re sure they will treasure the experience of travelling around the world with their mates, playing baseball, and competing in front of thousands of fans.
