Congratulations to all those who participated in the Junior Country Championships over the October long weekend.
After some early complications with the weather, BNSW Country League managed to get everyone out on the diamonds and complete a great three days of baseball.
The Under 12’s showed a great level of skill last weekend. So many awesome plays and great players with everyone competing with a smile on their face. The Under 14’s competition also saw four teams vying for the Championship title with great determination. After three days of really solid baseball, Illawarra come out on top in both the 12’s and 14’s division!
A fairytale finish in the Under 16’s division as the Far North Coast, who were wiped off the map (quite literally) in February this year by a record 1 in 500-year flood event, showing what determination is all about! BNSW Country League noted “their level of commitment was evident and the way they played all weekend was a credit. They came into the final in 2nd place behind a very strong Newcastle team and dominated the entire game.” FNC reigned champions with the 17 – 0 grand final win.
