Bill Langler Added as Independent Director to the BNSW Board of Management

11 August 2023

Baseball New South Wales (BNSW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Langler as an Independent Director to its Board of Management. Bill brings a wealth of experience, passion, and expertise to the organisation, making him a valuable addition to the leadership team.

Bill’s baseball journey started at the tender age of eight in Lismore, where he quickly fell in love with the game. Over 30 years, he played and coached baseball in Coffs Harbour, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the sport in the region. Bill’s dedication to the sport was recognised when he served as the Bench Coach for the NSW Country Under 18 team which was victorious at the Australian National Championships in 2016. Moreover, he served as the Country League Standing Committee Chairman for over 10 years, further showcasing his strong commitment to promoting and nurturing baseball in the community.

Bill holds degrees in Economics and Law from Australian National University and has practised as a solicitor with Mbt Lawyers for 30 years, becoming a partner in 2004. This legal experience complements the diverse skill set of the Board which, coupled with his long-standing commitment to representing regional and country interests in baseball, will ensure BNSW continues to address the unique challenges faced by the various communities and regions within our sport.

Bill’s appointment follows the resignation of BNSW Chair, Ross Morrison late last year which led to Jason Chabi accepting the role of President and Chair. Of the belief that the role should be an elected position by voting Members, Jason Chabi chose to resign his Independent Director position and in accordance with the Constitution, was subsequently voted in as an Elected Director.

Bill’s addition to the Board comes at an important juncture for BNSW and we look forward to his contribution to furthering the growth and professionalism of baseball across the state.
