Baseball Australia have officially launched their National Integrity Framework.
This month, Baseball Australia worked closely with Sport Integrity Australia, the national agency established to protect sports against integrity threats, to develop the National Integrity Framework.
Sport is an Australian way of life. It brings people together, regardless of any differences in language, ability, culture and beliefs, and provides physical, social and economic benefits. For those reasons, it’s critical to keep Baseball safe and fair, for everyone who participates.
Threats to sports integrity include things like illicit drug use, doping, competition manipulation and behaviours that impact people’s positive experience of sports, such as discrimination or abuse.
Integrity in sports means that athletes, supporters and fans can participate in and celebrate sport, confident in the knowledge that they are part of a safe, fair and inclusive environment.
All Baseball Australia members and participants are obligated to protect and maintain the integrity of sport and the health and well-being of people who participate.
A Social Media Member Protection Policy can also be found under the new National Integrity Framework, relevant in terms of online abuse, bullying and harassment (see Schedule 1 of that Policy).
