Home Runs and Heartfelt Victories: NSW State Championships 2024 Delivers Unforgettable Thrills!

The 2024 NSW State Championships have drawn to a thrilling close, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable baseball moments.

Across four electrifying events – the Senior League, Junior League, Little League, and Little League Division II Titles – athletes, coaches, parents, supporters, volunteers, and officials alike poured their hearts and souls into the game we all love. As we bid farewell to this year’s State Championships, let us take a moment to celebrate the triumphs and extend our deepest gratitude to all who made it possible.

Senior League: Cronulla Black Clinches Victory

Congratulations to Cronulla Black, crowned the 2024 Senior League champions! Their journey to the top saw them defeat Hills in a dominating semi-final performance, to then face their Cronulla Blue team in the gold medal match. Cronulla Blue’s walk off win in the semi-final was the clincher that earned them that second spot to Nationals which will be held in Geelong from May 13th to 17th. To everyone who contributed to the success of the Senior League State Championships, your efforts did not go unnoticed. Thanks to all for your dedication and hard work in making this event a resounding success. A special thanks to Tournament Director Andrew Clements, for his organization throughout the event.

Little League Division II: Manly Maroon Dominates

In an awe-inspiring display of talent, Manly Maroon emerged as the undefeated champions of the Little League Division II. Their exceptional performance, conceding only two runs across five games, culminated in a commanding 9-0 victory over Macarthur in the Gold Medal match. As they prepare to represent NSW at Nationals in Blacktown from June 5th to 10th, let us applaud their extraordinary achievement. They will be joined by Macarthur and Ryde Red at the Little League nationals next month!
The Little League Division II competition was joined by the inspiring Cronulla White team, composed of entirely female baseball players! These girls gave it their all, and their growth throughout the State Championships was astounding, finishing off their final game 18-9 with some outstanding outfield catches, and many slides into home to secure their runs!
A heartfelt thank you to all the teams who competed fiercely and to the enthusiastic spectators whose support illuminated the journey of these young stars.

Little League: Hills Red Claims the Title

Hats off to Hills Red for their triumphant victory over Ryde Black, securing the State Championship title in the Little League category. Their fellow Nationals attendees, Ryde Black and Cronulla Black, demonstrated formidable prowess on the field, promising an exhilarating showcase at the upcoming Australian Championships. The Little League competition, was fierce and unforgettable and is the cornerstone event in budding our youngest athletes’ love for the game.
We extend our sincerest appreciation to Marc Roberts, our Tournament Director for the Little League and Division II Championships! His organization and involvement is amazing with thanks to the support of the many officials involved in these great tournaments, including Jerry Cobb and his umpiring team, and Vera and Janine leading their volunteer scorers.

Junior League: Manly Maroon Seize Glory

The Junior League event on the Far North Coast delivered nail-biting action and heart-stopping drama to finish off our State Championships. In a captivating finale, Manly Maroon emerged as the NSW State Champions, seizing victory in the top of the 7th inning. Kai Riddle closed out the game, with a scoreless inning giving up one hit with 2SO to seal the win. With both Manly Maroon and Cronulla Black set to embark on their Nationals journey, we wish them the best of luck.

As the curtains fall on another remarkable chapter of Baseball in NSW, let us cherish the memories forged on the diamond and the camaraderie shared among players, coaches, officials, and fans alike.
