Junior Baseball – NSW Little League Umpire Academy

About: NSWBUA and the NSW Little League Umpires group is excited to announce our first ever NSW Little League Umpire Academy.
This event will be held at the Greenway Baseball Complex at Shepherds Drive in Cherrybrook NSW during the September school holidays from Sept. 27-29 (Tuesday-Thursday) from 9 AM – 4 PM with registration on Day 1 from 8:30 AM.
This event is open to all who want insight into the world of umpiring. Parents, players, and coaches are welcome to join as well.
Cost: Free – $100
Instructors: Local & International
This event promises to be one of the most exciting events to have been held for umpiring in Australia. Our instructor and trainer group will include local and interstate personnel. Little League World Series, National, and State Championship Umpires are all dedicated to sharing their knowledge and skills with those who want to learn and be involved.
We are also excited to let you know that two USA Little League Umpire instructors will be joining us.
Mike Debelak: An instructor at the Little League Western Region and two-time World Series Umpire in 2018 and 2021.
Mark Bernstein: The Umpire in Chief for the Western Region. As Umpire In Chief, Mark is responsible for the training and development of over 10,000 Western Region Umpires.
What to Bring:
If you have an umpire’s uniform, wear that. If not, a baseball uniform or casual clothes that allow for moderate athletic activity.
Sun protection (and possible rain protection)
Baseball glove, if you have one
Umpire gear if you have it. (mask, indicator, chest and leg protectors)
Water bottle and some snacks. (We hope to have canteen facilities available but will confirm as the event approaches)
Pen and notebook
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
