Youth Baseball5 World Cup Team Announcement

Congratulations to the inaugural team representing Australia at the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

Australia’s participation in this event is a great opportunity to promote the growth of Baseball5 across the country. This team will be the first Australian side to partake in a WBSC Baseball5 World Cup since its inception, which has created a unique pathway for our athletes into future World Cup and Youth Olympic teams.

The Youth Baseball5 World Cup will be held next month in Ankara, Turkey from the 10th to the 15th of October. Australia will be in Group B, with their first game scheduled for October 11th against Ghana.

The team, comprised of both NSW and Victorian players, will be coached by NSW Baseball5 Director, Adrian Medina. He will be assisted by Alison Bebbere as the Executive Officer (Baseball Victoria). Alison has represented Victoria at multiple Australian Women’s Championships, and most recently, Team Australia at the Women’s World Cup. Allie offers a wealth of tournament experience to these young players. Also helping prepare the team will be Gil Reyes who is a recognised international Baseball Scorer and analyst that has worked with the Venezuelan professional league and other MLB organisations.
