The NSW Office of Sport is launching the “Shoosh for Kids” campaign, a collaborative effort between the office and sector partners that aims to inspire positive behaviour among spectators of junior sports.
This campaign also offers free digital resources for stakeholders to help raise awareness and promote the message: If you don’t have anything nice to say, then “shoosh for kids!”
However, this campaign doesn’t want us to stay silent during games. Instead, it encourages us to keep things positive. The campaign runs according to the following key themes:
- Overarching: Think Before You Speak
- General Participation: Keep It Positive. Keep It Fun.
- Volunteer Appreciation: Remember, Volunteers Run Kids Sport
- Respecting the Officials: Respect the Referee
- Supporting the Coaches: Let Coaches Do the Coaching
The “Shoosh for Kids” campaign will run for two month-long iterations: May for winter-based sports, and November for summer-based sports.
