Last holidays the Blue Sox in collaboration with Baseball NSW and RBI Australia hosted their Spring Holiday Camps. These camps were divided into two sessions: the first camp welcomed players aged 6-15 across the Rookie Stars, Junior Sox and High-Performance Prep ages, while the second camp was female-focused and divided into the Future Flames and Rising Prospect ages. Overall parents shred in the feedback that the camp was great for “Improving his skills” and many of the children had shared the LOVED the Backwards Baseball game. Additionally “the friendships made” were a key positive of the parent testimonials.
One of the Sox players who joined the camp was Mitch Austin, who helped the participants get on the right track and learn the basics of baseball before stepping onto the field.
“On the whole, it’s been a really good time, and I really appreciate Baseball New South Wales for hosting,” Austin said.
Coach Ethan vouched for the Blue Sox camp saying “We definitely recommend [the camps] if you want your kid to learn heaps,” he said. “Make sure you get down here during the summer and join in!”. Feedback from parents on the coaching highlighted that “[My son] was happy and felt very guided and encouraged throughout the camp” as well as another parent saying “They were very engaging and went above and beyond to answer any questions we had on and off the diamond.”
Baseball NSW’s own coach Jack Dormor said the camp also emphasized “the mental aspects of the game.” He also added, “It’s a pretty good opportunity to get out here during school holidays and be around all like-minded kids and give them something to do.”
BNSW encourages our community to sign their kids up for the Sydney Blue Sox summer camps! Not only will your kids have a blast but they will also make lasting friendships by learning a team sport together.
