Baseball NSW proudly hosted the 2024 Barclay Cup at Chapman Gardens, Penrith, from September 29th to October 5th.
The event kicked off with an official welcome dinner on Saturday, September 28th, where young female baseball players had the unique opportunity to be inspired by some of Australia’s top female baseball talent. Special guest speakers included Katie Gaynor, Tahnee Lovering, Claire O’Sullivan, Laura Neads, and Jordie Richardson, who shared their experiences and motivated the athletes.
The Barclay Cup, one of the most prestigious junior female baseball tournaments, saw teams from South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria (with two teams), and three teams from New South Wales compete fiercely for the championship title.
A huge congratulations to the Adelaide Seahorses, who went undefeated to claim the championship! The NSW Jacinda Giants secured second place, while the NSW Cinda Spirit took third.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ben from Streme Masheen for managing the broadcasts and to Amy McCann from the podcast Women’s Baseball – Inside the Pitch, alongside her guest commentators Amy Cannington and Allie Bebbere, for their exceptional commentary throughout the games on Diamond 1. Thank you also to MickG Photography for his awesome coverage of the finals games. His pictures can be found on the Barclay Cup Facebook page!

Lastly, a big thank you to the dedicated grounds staff and the members of the Mackillop Baseball Club / Greater Western Baseball Association for ensuring that the grounds and facilities were in top condition throughout the tournament.
We hope to see everyone again next year!
