2025 Intermediate & Junior League Finals to Wrap in Melbourne

Baseball Australia has made the official decision to resume the Intermediate and Junior League Finals and crown this year’s national champions on Friday, 20 June, following rain outs in Lismore in early June.

With the weather on the East Coast this wet season, it was extremely unfortunate that heavy rains in Gold Coast and Lismore washed out the original JL and IL finals last 1 June. Under Little League rules, a winner needs to be decided.

Both winners of each tournament will go on to represent the Australian region at their respective World Series in the United States in July.

Per Baseball Australia, here’s the final draw for each league:

Intermediate League

There are two games remaining for the IL: the Preliminary Final and the Gold Medal game.

NSW’s own Hills is already in the Gold Medal game and is waiting for the winner of the Preliminary Final between Melbourne Athletics and Central Firebirds.

The winner of the Gold Medal game will advance to the Intermediate League World Series in Livermore, California at the end of July.

Junior League

The tournament will play two semi final games and a Gold Medal match among four remaining teams: Cronulla Black, Melbourne Athletics, Melbourne Mets, and Brisbane North.

With the Melbourne Mets finishing first in Pool A with a 4-0 record, they will face the Melbourne Athletics in the first semi final game. Meanwhile, the Pool B top seed Cronulla Black will face Brisbane North in the other semi final.

The winners of each semi final game will proceed to the Gold Medal match.

While Baseball Australia has yet to announce the schedule and field location, they expect the games to be played 20 June in Melbourne.

BNSW wishes our New South Wales squads the very best of luck as they try to advance to the World Series!
