Baseball 5 participates in Variety Activate Inclusion Day

On Wednesday, 11th May, Head of BNSW Baseball 5, Adrian Medina, participated in Disability Sport Australia’s “Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Day” in Marrickville, Sydney.

The day was number 1 of 3 day-long events around Sydney, with 2 more being held at Olympic Park and Mount Annan in the following days. Baseball 5 was one of the 4 sports that had the pleasure of participating in the days, run for kids living with disabilities. Through Baseball 5, we show kids that living with disability doesn’t have to be a barrier to enjoying sport and physical activity. The design of Baseball 5 allows for people of all abilities, ages, and gender to play a variant of the game we love, Baseball!

Adrian commented on the day, saying “the activities the kids enjoyed the most were the hand eye coordination drills and throwing to the target (soccer goal)”. It was great to see the Mayor of Marrickville, Councillor Darcy Byrne, and other office personnel, coming around at the beginning of the day and showing their support for these programs.

Thank you to Adrian for helping run the day and showing the kids how fun this sport can be!
