HELPFUL HINTS FOR PROMOTING YOUR CLUB'S TRY BASEBALL DAY EVENT!
As the paid advertising campaign for Try Baseball Days gets underway, we have one extra initiative to help try to encourage newcomers to come along to a Try Baseball Day. We are running a competition to win a $100 JB Hi-Fi Gift Voucher.
To be in the draw, parents must register online their intention to take their child to a Try Baseball Day (and nominate which club they are planning to visit). They then must also attend! BNSW will draw a winner on August 22, and when we do, we will need to be able to verify that the winner actually showed up.
To make this easier to track, we have created a simple sign-up sheet which clubs can print out and use to collect a little bit of information from participants at their Try Baseball Day. We have added a section to find out “How did they hear about the Try Baseball Day” to help BNSW to be able to measure the number of participants who came from our Facebook campaign, but this will also help Club’s to determine what measures they took were most successful (e.g. signage, newspaper ad). Feel free to modify the form for your own purposes if there is any extra info you want to grab when they show up.

After your Try Baseball Event, either scan or take a photo of the completed forms and email it to events@baseballnsw.com.au to ensure your participants are in the prize draw. Unless families indicated they wanted to be added to our mailing list when they signed up online, we will not use their contact information for any other purposes.
As a thank you for your help in collating this data, all Clubs that submit their attendance forms to us will go in a draw to win a Dugout Box for 4 people at a Sydney Blue Sox game this season – which could make a great reward or fundraising prize for your Club to use.
Thanks again for your Club’s support and efforts with the Try Baseball Day campaign.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Having trouble finding your Club Try Baseball Day event on Facebook?
How do I share/list this Facebook event on my page?
Where possible, we have added both the Club and Association Page as co-hosts which your page admin’s just need to accept the invitation.
Alternatively, the page admins can just visit the relevant Facebook Event Page, and by clicking on the “…” button [next to the Share button] they can click Add to Page – which will list it on the Club’s Facebook events page. Associations should do this for all the events in their area if possible to further boost the visibility.
I can only see one of my Try Baseball Days listed. How do I fix this?
Facebook launched a new feature recently where Pages can set up one event, but list multiple dates and event times from the one event. This is a great new feature as it allows interested people to see all the dates available to them from the one location, instead of having to find the specific event for each individual date.
Please check that all your events and times are listed appropriately. If we have any incorrect info on your event, please email events@baseballnsw.com.au as soon as you notice the error, and provide the correct info so we can correct it as soon as possible.
How else can we help promote the event on Facebook?
Share it! Share it on your page. Encourage existing club members to share it on their personal profile so their friends see it. The more places it is listed, the better of you will be. Are there any active "What's On in <Suburb>" Facebook Groups in your area? Forward your event to them to share as well.
You should also encourage existing members to click that they are 'Going' to the event to show newcomers that there is interest in your Club. They can also post on the discussion wall in your event with positive comments. The more interaction on your page, the more reach it will have. And the more interactive you will look to prospective new families. It all helps!
The could also share the post about the JB Hi-Fi voucher competition on their own pages. People love a chance to win something, so it might catch their eye.
