This month, Team Australia unveiled their highly anticipated Under 23 World Cup roster!
Congratulations to the 9 NSW players who have been selected to represent Team Australia at the WBSC U23 World Cup in Shoaxing, China.
Mark your calendars! The competition will run from September 6-15th with Australia being 1 of 12 teams competing in this prestigious international tournament. It’s great to see so many of our NSW players returning to the green and gold, with hopes of taking those next steps towards Team Australia representation at future World Baseball Classics and the LA2028 Olympics.
Australia finished sixth in the last Under-23 World Cup in 2022 and this team is looking to go in and top that!
We were very excited to see Josh Beezley announced as an addition to the roster, with the side-arm relief pitcher who pitches in NCAA Division I, named as Blake Towsend’s replacement. Beezley is eager to have the opportunity to represent Australia in his place.
21-year-old pitcher Zak Elvy was also added to Australia’s Under-23 World Cup roster ahead of the tournament opener against Columbia. The Baulkham Hills represent will be a strong addition to the roster, having previously represented the green and gold on multiple occasions.
We wish our guys the best of luck at this World Cup!
