Cronulla Sharks Baseball Club were thrilled to announce the official opening of their new accessible pathway at 225 Belgrave Esplanade, Sylvania Water.
This project, made possible with the support of the Sutherland Shire Council, is a huge step forward in making baseball more inclusive for players, coaches, scorers and the entire community.
The day was celebrated by Cronulla Sharks Baseball club committee, coaches, players and fans along with special guest Mick Chapman. Mick is the uncle of a local player, who uses a mobility wheelchair to support his movement.
The new pathway connects the club’s car park to the clubhouse and baseball dugouts, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the game we love.
This is an incredible addition to the Cronulla Sharks club allowing more of our community to access baseball!
Mick was also kind enough to wear an Insta 360go showing the first hand perspective of what it’s like to travel on our new pathway. Check out the video here
