Celebrating 100 Years of Bert Alderson!

We as a Baseball community wish to celebrate and acknowledge Bert Alderson, who turns 100 next month on the 14th of December!!

Congratulations Bert on reaching your century (100 yrs old) and in good health.

Bert represented NSW at both cricket and baseball. In Baseball, Bert played for several clubs from the 1940s representing Wenty Methodists, Waverley, Western Suburbs and Sydney University Baseball Clubs. (named in Sydney Uni. Team of the Century). In 1939 he played in the School Boys in Melbourne; in 1940 he played in the School Boys in Adelaide. He also played for NSW for multiple years against Victoria at Marrickville & Petersham. A former Claxton Shield great he represented NSW with pride at Adelaide and Perth in 1961 and 62.

In Cricket, Bert scored over 14,000 runs in Grade Cricket, and still holds the record for Cumberland/Parramatta with 11,014 runs.
