From Friday through Sunday, we saw lots of baseball being played around our state, with three of our competitions - State League and Women's League - all welcoming the return to play with sunny skies.
Starting with the Women's League, players in both the 1st and 2nd Grade saw lots of at bats resulting in runs. Results are: 1st Grade -- MacArther Orioles 7 - 4 West Sydney Boomers 2nd Grade -- Blacktown Worker 1 - 10 Cronulla Sharks Penrith 2 - 5 West Sydney Boomers In the State League, there was some strong pitching and fielding in each grade, along with some stellar hits. Results are: 1st Grade -- MacArthur Orioles 2 - 0 Manly Eagles Canterbury Vikings vs Ryde Hawks (washed out) Baulkham Hills 1 - 0 Blacktown Workers Greater Western 2 - 1 Cronulla Sharks 2nd Grade -- Manly Eagles 9 - 5 MacArthur Orioles Baulkham Hills 1 - 5 Blacktown Workers Greater Western 4 - 6 Cronulla Sharks Canterbury Vikings vs Ryde Hawks (washed out) 3rd Grade -- Manly Eagles 13 - 2 MacArthur Orioles Baulkham Hills 6 - 0 Blacktown Workers Greater Western 5 - 0 Cronulla Sharks Canterbury Vikings vs Ryde Hawks (washed out) U18 -- Ryde Hawks 2 - 6 Canterbury Vikings Baulkham Hill 0 - 6 Blacktown Workers Greater Western 3 - 3 Cronulla Sharks Well done to all who played as we look forward to this weekend's sunny skies and full play on the baseball diamonds.
