 VALE: Ian Lewis
The 12th of February marked a sad announcement in the Baseball community with the passing of Ian Lewis. Ian was a former 1st grade multi-premiership winning Head Coach and played a significant part in the astronomical success of Belmont Baseball Club during the late 80's and 90's and continued to be a much loved member. A life member of Newcastle and NSW Country Baseball, no person made a greater contribution to our great sport in this State over the past 50 years. lan held various roles in baseball at many levels over his career including Chairman of both the NBA and NSW Country as well an Assistant Coach roles with the NSW Caxton Shield and Hunter Eagles ABL teams. He did so much for so many and our thoughts at this time are with Jenny, Chad, Sharyn, Dale and their families. Baseball has had some wonderful servants over the last half century and Lewey ranks among the best of them. Comments are closed.
