Country Women’s Baseball Development ProgramThe Opportunity
Country NSW has been invited to enter teams into the Baseball Queensland Women’s State Championships to be held at Hendra in Queensland between December 13th and 18th. We have been invited to enter a team into the Open Women’s division (played on December 13th to 15th) and Youth Women and Little League (played on December 17th and 18th). Opportunities to play will be available to all female players from 10 years old and older. Phase 1 – Talent Identification Phase This phase will be conducted in October, 2019 and will be a series of skills development sessions conducted in a range of locations. The sessions will be up to 4 hours long and be used to determine the skill levels for interested players and prepare a development program for these players to follow prior to the finalization of the teams for the tournament. There will be no charge for this phase. Phase 2 – Tournament Phase This phase will commence in early November and continue through to the beginning of the tournament. It is probable that some of the sessions held during this phase will entail some travel to a central location so that work can be done on team-related skills. During this phase there may be local skill training sessions as well. There will be costs associated with this phase to cover the cost of the tournament including uniforms. It is currently planned that individuals attending the tournament will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the tournament.
