Many individuals, clubs and organisations are striving to give women and girls more opportunities and equal access to participate in their sport. We want to recognise those people and highlight the work they are doing.

Recognising and celebrating the achievement of leaders in women’s sport through awards and storytelling shines a light on gender equity across the sector.
 
There are four award categories: 

• Young Achiever: Recognises a woman under 25 who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of women or girls in sport during 2019.
• Outstanding Organisation: Recognises an organisation’s significant contribution and commitment to the advancement of women’s sport during 2019.
• Champion: Recognises a woman for her outstanding achievements during 2019, as a coach, official, administrator or leader, and a commitment to furthering opportunities for women and girls to participate.
• Trailblazers: Recognises up to three women per year whose exceptional efforts over the long-term have advanced the opportunities for women’s and girls’ involvement in sport. These women have left a legacy for their sport and may have retired.

Recipients will be announced at an event around International Women's Day in March 2020.
 
Individuals and sporting organisations are strongly encouraged to nominate an outstanding coach, official, administrator or leader who has made a significant contribution to inclusive sport for women.
 
Nominations will close 7 February 2020.

NSW Women’s Baseball League (NSWWBL)is hosting a Pink Sports Day to PLAY4BCNA

NSWWBL is preparing to pink up as it hosts a Pink Sports Day on Friday 17 January and Saturday 18 January 2020 in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).

Pink Sports Day is an opportunity for sporting groups around Australia to show their support for, and pay tribute to, local people affected by breast cancer.

Each year hundreds of clubs across Australia take part to show their support for Australians affected by breast cancer. This year NSWWBL will join sporting groups nationwide as they rally together in a bid to raise $550,000.
Funds raised from Pink Sports Day help BCNA's work ensuring Australians diagnosed with breast cancer receive the best support, information, treatment and care.

BCNA CEO, Kirsten Pilatti, said ‘Hosting a Pink Sports Day presents an opportunity for all sporting communities to support local people affected by breast cancer.’

‘Pink Sports Day raises funds to provide support for the more than 20,000 Australians who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year,' Kirsten said.

‘The Pink Sports Day program is proudly supported by major partner, Red Energy, who sponsor the cost for producing, providing and sending the promotional material to sporting clubs around the country who are volunteering their time and energies for BCNA.'
